Ed Woodward, vice-presidente do Manchester United, pediu demissão do cargo nesta terça-feira, após criticas e pressão direcionadas ao clube, que integra o grupo dos 12 criadores da Superliga.

A decisão ocorre no mesmo dia em que os clubes se reúnem para decidir o futuro do campeonato. Manchester City e Chelsea já pensam em abandonar a ideia.

Segundo informações da BBC e da Rádio Talk Sport, o executivo só abandonará de fato o cargo no final de 2021.
